Comment: I have read of many a robbery stopped by someone with a CC permit. It was when I was in Indianapolis. from , Ohio

Comment: Any time you say "No guns allowed here" that is where the cowards with a gun go to take out people. from Pickerington, Ohio by Doug

Comment: If you have went the all the courses to Obtain the privlege I believe you should have be able to carry for your own protection. It is a Concealed Carry keep in mind. from Grove City, OH by James

Comment: I only think if that person is into law enforcement like a Police Officer, State Trooper,or a Sheriff they know the proper way to use it. Guns are for protecting you & your loved one's in "YOUR HOME" now if it's the restaurant's owners carrying a licensed gun then that would work for me. They are protecting their clients from Columbus, Ohio by Donna

Comment: I feel it should be ok. It is legal to carry a concealed weapon with a license. I would feel safer knowing that someone "legally" could defend themselves or someone else in a time of danger. from , Ohio by Michelle

Comment: yes, next they will start banning guns everywhere so then what is the point of getting a license to carry????? so much for the land of the free from Delaware, OH by Donna

Comment: should be no restrictions on where a gun can be carried, except maybe into a prison. from columbus, ohio by james

Comment: People with licenses to carry guns are the ones, be they cops or citizens, are the ones you want around if someone with a gun arrives with ill intentions. from Lewis Center, Ohio by Jason

Comment: 100% yes why not have law bideing citizens around you with firearms from , Ohio by mike

Comment: I am CCW. I feel it should be allowed because I have a family and would want to protect them from an armed delinquent who may want to harm my family or other innocent people. Also I feel if a suspected felon knew that the restaurants had people with CCW's, they would definitely think twice about harming or robbing that establishment!! from zanesville, ohio by othello

Comment: Over half of the other states allow this and none have reported any problems with it. CCW permit holders are law-abiding citizens, not criminals who are responsible citizens and take very seriously the decision made to carry a concealed weapon. The criminals prefer to go places where they know people will not be carrying a weapon. This law is needed and has been a long time coming to the Buckeye State. from Canal Winchester, OH by Grant

Comment: I teach a ccw course (concealeddefenses.com) being a retired police officer I see the benefit of not restricting the good guys from where and when they can carry their handgun. the bad guys do not follow rules and regulations. so lets not not make criminal activity easier for the bad guys by restricting the good guys. from Columbus, Ohio by Roy

Comment: Concealed carry permit holders are law-abiding citizens who have gone through the state-required training and background checks. They are people who believe our founding fathers had the foresight to know the importance of self-protection and every individuals' right to it. I'm sure the law as introduced has stipulations as to the legal possession of the concealed firearm and the consumption of alcohol, which seems to be a concern of the opposition. But rest assured, the law-abiding CCW permit holders will always continue to uphold those laws, and they are the people you want to have with you in the restaurant (or anywhere else for that matter) when the criminal who completely disregards the law decides it's his right to take away from you. from Lancaster, Ohio by Kim

Comment: Yes I think it would only be for the better good of the safety of the public. I am a ccw holder and I would like to see that law passed! About time from Buckeye City, Ohio by Tha

Comment: only if they dont serve alcahol.they dont mix.its our given rite...we pass back ground check..its the people that dont have ccw we have to worry bout,, from hillsboro, ohio by darrell

Comment: Most people don't understand that ccw holders are some of the most law abiding people out there. The more "gun free" zones there are the more places there are for the criminal element that doesn't abide by the law to find innocent victims with no fear of retribution. Come on people, it is up to the law abiding citizens to start taking some responsibility for protecting ourselves, our families and other innocent people who cannot or will not protect themselves. The police cannot and will not be everywhere to protect you and your family. Please people look around you! from , ohio by Chuck

Comment: I would like to see comparisons between permit holders and non-permit holders in relation to the crimes committed. It is my belief that the legal permit holder has limited run in with the law. This is becsause they respect the law and understand when it is and is not appropriate. Carrying a gun(legally) should be allowed almost anywhere. The places allowed should be re-evaluated. Colleges, banks, and other off limit places is irrelevant because most crimes involving a gun in these places are done by non-permited people. Since this is the case, wouldn't you want an inconspicous permit carrying patron be there to stop a violent crime against you? from Dublin, Ohio by William

Comment: If criminals are armed, law-abiding citizens should be too. from Columbus, Ohio by Glen

Comment: no guns from reynoldsburg, ohio by tj

Comment: ABSOLUTELY! They are there and cops are a phone call and travel time away! from Pataskala, Ohio by Dave

Comment: No! No! No! This is not Dodge City in the 1800's, This is Columbus, Ohio 2010. Goes to show we have idiots in state government too.......... from Columbus, Ohio

Comment: Don't ever be afraid of legal CC gun owners. You need to fear the criminals carrying a gun. They are the ones doing the crimes. from , Ohio by John

Comment: Licensed to carry is licensed to carry. Yes, they should not have limits on where we can carry a gun. from columbus, ohio by deb

Comment: I support being able to legally carry concealed firearms into restaurants. Please remember the Luby's restaurant massacre in Killeen, TX in 1991, where 23 people were shot to death and another 20 wounded. This was the deadliest shooting rampage in American history until the Virginia Tech massacre. This could have been stopped by patrons legally carrying their concealed firearms. from Columbus, Ohio by Theresa

Comment: Having a deadly weapon makes you more likely to resort to deadly behaviors. Plus, restaurants = alcohol. Alcohol + Gun = Bad. Enough said. from Columbus, OH by Dianna

Comment: No. Far to many people with short fuses--just what we need in places that serve alcohol. from Newark, ohio by Barbara

Comment: Why not? They probably have their gun in the car, it would be safer if they had it on them rather then locked in their car. I would feel safer knowing that law abiding person is sitting next to me with a gun then it being in their car from Reynoldsburg, Ohio by william

Comment: I have a CCW and feel I should be allowed to carry into restaurants'. from Lakeview, Ohio by Nancy

Comment: Sure why not I can mine most places that I go would you want to keep your family safe you could be in a store right beside my and never know that I have a ccw.keep this in mind you stop by a store to pick up something with your family a person holds up the store while you are there the robber shoots someone your familys life is in danger do you want to be a victim or the person that has the power to safe your family and everone else. Criminals will always have guns but I buy mine legal I have never been in trouble took the test to get my ccw so why not. from columbus, Ohio by Mike
