Do you agree with the new mammogram guidelines advising women in their 40s to stop getting routine mammograms?

Comment: During a self-examination, I discovered a lump in my breast at the age of 29. I went to the doctor and due to my age, they only did an ultrasound which showed nothing of concern. (I am also adopted, so I have no record of family history.) About 6 months later, I noticed the lump increasing in size which prompted me to return to the doctor. They did a mammogram at that time which did, in fact, detect breast cancer. It had also spread to my lymph nodes by that point. Naturally, I am an advocate of early detection and would NEVER agree that women should wait until the age of 50 for a mammogram! from Powell, Ohio by Jennifer
