Comment: Yes if they cant behave make
them go home. One bad apple
can spoil the bunch and I know
the mall dont want to do that.
Because not all are rowdy, But
safety is at hand from columbus ohio by akila
Comment: Absolutely- but not 6pm. That's a little unreasonable. Other than watching a movie, there isn't much else to do at a mall after 8pm. from Columbus,OH by Jenna
Comment: I would not be opposed to this kind of a ban. I feel that being a teen hangout added to the demise of City Center. I used to go to this mall to shop all of the time. Towards the end it became a big hangout for very intimidating teenagers that made me feel uneasy about shopping there.
PS: I would like to see you take the coffee break poll back to a daily poll. It is too boring having to wait the entire week for comments. The daily ones allowed for better subjects. from Grandview Heights, OH by Linda
Comment: Yes I think they should. Alot of people, older and younger alike just dont feel safe, there out of there homes trying to shop with all these thugs just hanging like vultures by Rod
Comment: ABSOLUTELY!!!!! Long overdue. from Thornville, OH
Comment: Yes, Malls are certainly entitled to set whatever rules they want. People forget that malls are NOT public property, and if loitering by disruptive groups is hurting sales, they are absolutely right to do it. However, most of the teens in my family worked at the mall in the evenings, especially over the summer. I wonder what they will do for them. from Columbus, OH by Valerie
Comment: The mall was not built to babysit your teen! People need to start taking responsibility for their kids. That is why I, a cash paying customer will not go near a mall on friday, saturday or sunday. by S.
Comment: I think that it is a very good idea that at least someone takes the initiative to combat this.
It is a shame that business owners have to force parents to "parent" their children when they can not.
from Columbus, Ohio by William
Comment: Yes, as parents today are not taking an active part in raising their own children...DUHHH from Ohio by Emilie
Comment: Totally agree with this! I can't believe it has taken this long for something like this to happen! I just can't wait until this rule comes to Columbus, Ohio, so when I go to the mall I don't have to worry about a million teenagers just hangin around. from Circleville, Ohio by Kayleigh
Comment: no because some of the kids in the mall
really spend money from powell ohio by cole
Comment: It would be nice for malls to
have a curfew ( I agree 100%),
however some of the retailer
stores that target our younger
generation (preteens/teens)
probably would not survive
whether we like it or not these
teens spend money and lots of
it. Then how about the kids
that work at the mall to make
money to buy stuff at the mall.
Kids can't shop during the day
because they should be in
SCHOOL. I have seen many groups
of kids be rowdy and use bad
words/running and knocking into
people (Tuttle Mall)makes me
mad but I don't think we can
put a curfew on a mall. It
would end up hurting many in
the long run. I just wish our
young generation was more
respectful in public. from Columbus, Ohio by Robyn
Comment: I think the curfew should be for those under 16. And, have a good presence from the local police department. from Powell, OH by Shana
Comment: I believe discipline starts at home. Well disciplined kids should not be a problem. The mall certainly has the right to kick unruly kids out. But I think it's a shame that my daughters, who maybe get giggly when with a bunch of friends, are punished for the actions of others. by Sue
Comment: My wife and I quit going to City Center when it was in operation because of groups of teens. They were intimidating. Eastland Mall is the same way. We now have to drive north or northwest to find what we feel is a safe place to shop. from Grove City/Ohio by Collins
