Jerrys answer: Clouds are divided into 3 groups based on their height: low, middle and high. And within these 3 groups, there are at least 9 different categories based on the appearance of the clouds. On top of that, there are dozens of types of clouds that don't fit into any category so all told, there are over 100 types of clouds.

Jerrys answer: The moon has a much wider temperature range than the Earth. High temperatures during the day can be over 210°, while low temperatures at night (on the dark side of the moon) can drop to -279°! And you thought our winters were cold!

Jerrys answer: The earliest official record of snow on the ground was .1" on October 10, 1906. The earliest that Columbus had 1" of snow on the ground was October 22, 1925.

Jerrys answer: The word 'tornado' comes from the Spanish word 'tronada', which means thunder.

Fox asked: Do tornadoes in the southern hemisphere spin opposite those in the northern hemisphere?
Jerrys answer: Yes. 99% of tornadoes in the northern hemisphere spin counterclockwise because the thunderstorms that form them spin counterclockwise. In the southern hemisphere, the reverse is true, with most twisters spinning clockwise.
