Power of Prayer Used to Fight Crime
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A Columbus minister is challenging other local clergy to take action to keep their community streets safe.
Pastor Robert Bell of Victory Delivery Annex Church says he wants to hold a lunchtime prayer vigil at the Statehouse in downtown Columbus at the end of July.
"This is the time we have to stand-up for more than ourselves. We have to stand up for the community, as well," Bell said.
Bell says the unsolved murder of a fellow reverend in Columbus inspired him to take action. Rev. Billy Howard was shot in February while shoveling snow in front of his home.
ABC6 News Steve Levine highlights local efforts to clean up crime in their neighborhoods.
