Spending time outdoors is one the greatest summer time activities. Be mindful in you are in the back yard, make sure the front door is locked and your garage door is down to avoid daytime burglaries.

I can see how just spending time mowing the law, playing in the backyard, gardening, etc could mean garage doors or home doors left unlocked or just plain open

A lot of daytime thefts are because a criminal will see the homeowner is busy (mowing, ect) and "sneak" into the garage and take something quickly - a lot times without being seen.

i do have concerns, i live in a pretty quiet neighborhood - but i think one neighbor sells drugs at times - i am afraid to report it tho because i live alone. always cautious, by locking doors, windows and basically watching my back.

Hot Lines: you are correct some agencies have "hot lines". some smaller agencies just can afford to pay for the extra telephone line. Speaking anon with a dispatcher or detective is a good choice also.

i find it upsetting that if a nonviolent law is broken that nothing can really be done. again without a neighbor retaliating, such as one neighbor is a roofer and he deliberately parks the wrong way with a huge trailer in front of my home (i think because i am trying to sell it) but it causes obstruction when going in and out of drive. i know officers busy with violent crimes so i really hate to call on that
