Comment: A lot more crime from cbus Ohio by Michael
Comment: I think it will have a negative effect. People will spend money they need to spend on bills, groceries, rent always thinking they will make more & in a lot of cases it will become an addiction, which is never good. from Buckeye Lake, Ohio by Denise
Comment: Same reason liquor stores populate low income areas. from Plain City, Ohio by Matthew
Comment: I'm sure it will help rejuvenate some of the other businesses around the casino. Our west side has quickly been disinegrating over the years,so hopefully it will help bring the westside back to life with old and add new businesses to the neighborhood.(such as hotels and restaurants) from Cols OH by Terri
Comment: With the economy the way it is - people will be "hoping" for big bucks to help them out and all they will be doing is draining their money away from Columbus, Ohio by Bobby
Comment: I think the casino will definately have a positive effect on the West side community from Granville, Oh by Tamara
Comment: It will be ring more jobs and more business to Columbus. from 43321 by inna
Comment: CAN'T MAKE IT ANY WORSE. THERE'S NOTHING HERE ANYMORE. BROAD ST AND GEORGESVILLE RD LOOKS LIKE A GHOST TOWN WITH ALL THE VACANT BUILDINGS!! by TINA
Comment: It will open up many jobs. and it has already started to make everyone clean up the westside which is a great thing. from Columbus`Ohio by Teresa
Comment: Actually it depends on what you consider positive or even negative. It would be negative if you have all he do gooders in the wourld worring about the poor soles who are going to spend the kids lunch money on the slots. Good news if jobs and the economy mean anything to you. Someday I will stop in just to get a look at all the glitz and glamer that goes on there. by James
Comment: I think it will have positive and negative effects. Positive effects because it will bring more money to the city. Negative with all the crime that will also come. I am in school to become a police officer so with the crime rate about to soar I shoud have no problem getting a job. from Hilliard/Ohio by Luke
Comment: It is already starting to help revitalize the area and it's not even open yet. Apartment complexes are filling up, new stores and restaurants are in the works, and there are more people using the existing stores and restaurants. Personally, I have a job offer from the casino and since I don't want to drive 40 minutes to work each day, I'm currently apartment shopping on the west side. I've already starting mapping out where my favorite stores and restaurants are around the ones I'm looking at. The casino management is also gathering ideas from employees and job candidates about what they can do as a company to help the west side. I think it's going to be a beautiful thing. from Reynoldsburg, OH by Rebecca
Comment: It will bring in more business because the people going to the casino will notice the other businesses around. It would be great to see Westland Mall remodeled back to it's glory days. It could happen if the casino gets enough business. Just like any business the casino will have to be responsible enough to have strict guidelines and enough security, but I'm thinking positive thoughts. from Columbus, Ohio by Peggy
Comment: I believe there will be a lot more crime in the area, plus think of the addiction factor and the toll it'll take on families . from Columbus , Ohio by Carol
Comment: As a former Hilltop resident, I think that the casino will have a positive effect on the West side. It is so sad to see how much the west side has deteriorated in the last 10 or 15 years around W Broad, and I think the new businesses the casino will bring can only rejuvenate the area. If you look at the areas around the Hollywood in Lawrenceburg, IN, it is very nice and I am looking forward to visiting the new casino. from Columbus, OH by Cathy
Comment: The casino will actually be both positive and negative. positive from a jobs perspective, but since they are tight on the liquor laws, I doubt late night gambling will be very heavy and it could end up a ghost town until the bar opens again the next day! from Mt Perry, Ohio by Dan
Comment: Yes, I Think It will Be I Know There Hasn't Been A Great Casino Effect In Years, Maybe It's Just Because The People Haven't Been Winning The Casino Recently, In The Next Columbus Casino, I Could See Some Exceptions from Westerville, Ohio by Pete
