Weather Delays Work on Columbus Crossroads

COLUMBUS -- The Columbus Crossroads highway construction project is still going on in downtown Columbus, despite the weather.
Ohio Department of Transportation workers are all bundled up and braving the bitter cold.
“The weather has just canceled some work on the (670/71) project but not all the work on the project,” ODOT spokesperson Nancy Burton said.
ODOT said the weather hasn't delayed the overall Crossroads project timeline, but certain pieces just can't be worked on in this weather.
“One of the big bridges its actually the biggest bridge on the project has these huge steel beams because of when snow we've had an really bitterly cold temperatures that work has been pushed back,” Burton said. “We're still on schedule the plan is to open all travel movements which means bridges and lanes of travel by the end of this year the end of 2013.”
