COLUMBUS -- A man survives a violent beating in west Columbus on Park Avenue near West Broad. Police say the man was taken to Mt. Carmel West in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable condition.
Witnesses say they saw a group of men approach a vehicle shortly before 10 o'clock Sunday evening, dragging one of the occupants out of the car and began punching and kicking him to the point where he lost consciousness.
One witness ran out of his home to break-up the fight and tend to the man who was seriously injured.
Police say they do have one suspect in custody and assault charges could likely stem from this violent beating.
