COLUMBUS (Ben Garbarek) -- Thousands of people are coming to Columbus for the start of the Arnold Sports Festival on Thursday.
Organizers expect about 170,000 people to visit. People from around the world are getting ready for the big event.
"This competition for me is the biggest one ever," said Hashim Youshaa, a competitor from Denmark. "It's one of my dreams to win an Arnold Classic."
Forget New York or Los Angeles, Columbus is the first taste of America for many of this weekend's visitors.
"We come (as) a Brazilian TV crew to show the festival to (the) Brazilian people," said journalist Celso Cavallini. "We have great athletes coming from Brazil for the competition."
The Arnold is putting Columbus on the world stage once again.
"I really want to come back (for) vacation," Cavallini said. "(It's a) beautiful place and I want to know the city and other things."
