COLUMBUS -- Two teenage murder suspects could be charged as adults in connection with the  shooting death of a Linden-McKinley freshman as he walked away from school last week.

Police arrested Shyquan Washington and Jesean Callender for the January 17 shooting death of Kaewaun Coleman.

Police say Callender, also 15, is the one who pulled the trigger in a back alley near Cleveland Ave. Washington, 17, is accused of providing Callender with the gun at the murder scene.

ABC 6/FOX 28 looked into both suspects' juvenile records, and discovered that Callenders legal trouble began in January 2010, when he punched through glass and started cursing and using racial slang terms at school.

In September 2011, Callender was charged with carrying a loaded gun in his backpack along with 5 live rounds.  He picked up another assault and menacing charge before he was arrested for carrying a loaded gun again in May, 2012, when he was just 14-years-old.

Along with arraignment on his murder charge Thursday, Callender also faced a hearing for a violation involving his ankle monitor.

Washington was first charged in August, 2009 for criminal trespass.  A few months later when he was 14, he was charged with the rape of an 11-year-old girl.  In that case, a psychological evaluation was ordered, which determined Washington had learning disabilities and limitations and a possible case of mild mental retardation.  Washington was put on electronic monitoring and ordered to undergo counseling.

Prosecutors have filed paperwork to try both teenagers as adults in Colemans murder.  The bind over issue is scheduled to go before a juvenile court judge on January 30.

Callenders attorney, Sean Boyle, says his client denies the murder charges. "We're going to put up a vigorous defense and fight these charges."
