Teenage Survivor Identified as Driver in Fayette Co. Crash

FAYETTE, Ohio -- A new report released Friday provides a long-awaited answer to a big question about a crash that killed three teenagers.
The report on the 2007 collision has been amended to identify sole survivor Jessika Houser as the driver. The original report indicated that Magan Cave -- who died in the crash -- was driving at the time of the accident.
Cave's family members said they have always believed that Magan was a passenger in the Chevy Cavalier when it crashed on White Oak Road.
Houser told ABC 6/FOX 28 she does not remember if she was driving at the time of the accident, but can't think of any reason why she would have been behind the wheel.
"I don't remember, but I don't think I was [driving]," Houser said. "I don't feel in my heart that I was."
The mother of victim Nicole Heskett said she is relieved to hear that the accident report has been updated, but wants to know why it took so long to make the change.
"We're just now just now getting them to say out loud they're changing their report and clearing Magan's name," Veronia Heskett said. "It's frustrating. The Cave family has been living with this heartache, us not knowing what actually happened."
The Fayette County prosecutor said the crash is not currently believed to be a criminal matter, but his office will continue to review the case's records.
