COLUMBUS — A 15 year old boy released to his Aunt by Maryhaven by mistake almost two weeks ago is still missing Giovanni Farmer Junior was to be released only to his Father, Giovanni Senior, who says he has sole custody of his son.
Maryhaven has apologized for the mistake.
ABC 6/FOX 28 did the story a week ago today when the dad called to ask for help finding his son.
When we checked with the Franklin County Sheriff, a detective said the teen had been found by Columbus Police, and taken off the
missing list.
After days of checking and many phone calls, his father learned from another Franklin County detective today that Giovanni Junior is still missing.
It appears the Aunt who took him turned him over to his Mother, who does not have custody.
Giovanni Senior says the boy’s mother told detectives she dropped him off somewhere but she can’t remember the address.
The teenager has a caseworker at Franklin County Childrens’ Services, but she has not returned the dad’s calls.
The dad says he has family and friends are looking for his son.
