Updated: Thursday, January 24 2013, 09:10 AM EST
EAST COLUMBUS -- An early Thursday morning SWAT standoff related to the search for a murder suspect ended peacefully around 5:30 a.m.

The standoff started just after midnight at a home in the 300 block of S. Ashburton Road.

Police told ABC 6/FOX 28 News that homicide detectives had gone to the home to execute a warrant.

Reports from the scene indicate 3 people were taken into custody at the home.

Authorities said the warrant was related to a homicide in November on Clifton Court.

Police reports indicate there was only one homicide on Clifton Court in 2012.

Nicholas Thompson, 24 was gunned down in an apartment complex hallway on November 16th.

Neighbors at the time told ABC 6/FOX 28 News that they heard arguing right before the shooting.

Police found Thompson's body surrounded by casings.
