COLUMBUS -- A woman could face serious charges after she called Columbus Police saying her daughter was kidnapped.
That daughter, it turns out, was out drinking with her mother and friends. When the mother was told to leave, that's when she called police.
She told Police she and her daughter were walking home from a bar when two men drove up and "yanked" her daughter into the car and drove off. She said she followed the car to their home in the 400 block of E Gates Street where she says she was threatened with a gun.
When Columbus Police arrived, there was no answer at the door, and the S.W.A.T. team was called in.
Once on scene, the occupants of the apartment came out on their own accord, along with the woman's daughter who set the record straight.
The daughter informed police of the evening's activities including her mother being told to leave the home they were drinking in and was angry. She said she was in the home drinking on her own accord and was not kidnapped.
Officials on scene said the mother could face a number of different charges pending investigation.
The names and specific charges have not been released.
