EAST COLUMBUS -- Police are looking into an early morning SUV crash in East Columbus.
The crash happened just after 4:00 a.m. on Bulen Ave.
Investigators told ABC 6/FOX 28 News that the driver lost control of their Jeep on E. Mound St., crossed traffic and slammed into a power pole on Bulen Ave.
The SUV cut the power pole in half before coming to a rest against a nearby home.
Police quickly shut down traffic in the area and called in AEP to come replace the pole.
The driver was taken to the hospital though their condition was not released.
The force of the impact was enough to activate the Jeep's airbags.
Police didn't say if anyone was home at the time of the crash, though smoke could be seen coming from the home's chimney.
The incident remains under investigation.
