Suspect in Franklin Co. Deputy Assault Still at Large

PRAIRIE TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A suspect remains on the run after allegedly assaulting a sheriff's deputy during a Wednesday afternoon traffic stop in SW Franklin County.
Franklin County sheriff's investigators are trying to locate Fredy Arnoldo Lopez, who is accused of hitting a deputy in the mouth and upper body during a physical altercation in the area of Murray Hill Road and Dolan Pl. in Prairie Twp. at approximately 2 p.m.
The altercation occurred as the deputy attempted to question Lopez during a traffic stop, according to Sheriff Zach Scott, who says the suspect's vehicle was determined to be "suspicious" prior to being stopped.
Lopez allegedly fled on foot following the physical confrontation with the deputy, who suffered minor injuries.
Lopez is described as 5'7" tall and 220 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. He is charged with assault on a police officer.
