COLUMBUS – A man who was convicted of stalking the actress Gwyneth Paltrow in 2000 is behind bars again, accused of stalking a Central Ohio woman.
Prosecutors said Dante Soiu violated the protection order filed against him by a woman who said he has sent her scores of emails and has shown up at her business, waiting for her for hours at a time.
Soiu was convicted in 2000 of stalking Paltrow, sending her letters, pornography and showing up at her parents’ home.
He was sentenced to three years in a mental facility.
The local woman said in her protection order application that Soiu sent her letters with lengthy rants about religion and politics and also sent her a letter in which he professed, “Love is like food to a woman… do not starve her… a healthy woman needs the medicine of love every day.”
After the protection order was filed, prosecutors said he sent the woman 11 emails.
