The home owner wasn’t there.
Franklin County Sheriff, Zach Scott, says no home owner should just rely on the family pet to protect their home.
He says the best way to protect your home is to take several steps.
“Having a dog is should only be a part of your protection, “ Scott says.
Scott suggests you also make sure the outside of your home is well lit, that there aren’t bushes that block the window to your home and he suggests getting an alarm system.
