SPECIAL REPORT: Columbus Cops Rate Their Crime Risks
Updated: Wednesday, February 13 2013, 09:29 AM EST
COLUMBUS -- ABC 6/FOX 28 wanted to find out if police officers practice what they preach when it comes to safety -- so we put some central Ohio cops to the test.
Two Columbus officers took the Rate Your Risk surveys as part of the ABC 6 Fighting Back series.
The officers focused on three of the four tests, including assault, murder, and burglary.
One officer took the assault test while the other answered questions designed to rate the risk of murder.
The questions take a close look at habits, personal safety, and home protection. Some ask for personal information, such as the amount of alcohol a user drinks on weekends.
After taking the tests, users are given recommendations on how to better protect themselves from crime.
"I think it's a good thing to remind you to take those extra steps, if you haven't been already, based on your score," Officer Kelly Shay said.
If you'd like to take the survey, just go to www.rateyourrisk.org.
