SOUTH COLUMBUS -- Columbus Police arrested a south side murder suspect Tuesday night.
Beau Stephenson, 31 was taken into custody at a home on Stoneview Court in Southeast Columbus and charged with murdering Chris Manley, 40.
Manley's murder was the 7th in Columbus since January 1st.
Police said they found his body in a home at a mobile home park on Harmon Ave.
It's believed he was gunned down during a robbery at the home, though officers haven't found evidence of anything being taken.
Detectives told ABC 6/FOX 28 News that drugs may have been involved.
Investigators said Stephenson tried to run Tuesday evening when officers first showed up to arrest him.
Once they caught up with him he stopped putting up a fight.
Neighbors told ABC 6/FOX 28 News that they had called police on Stephenson in the past.
They also said his home was constantly being visited by different people and that he was aggressive.
Court records indicate Stephenson has an extensive criminal past.
He has been arrested multiple times since 2001 on various charges ranging from drug possession and burglary to felony weapon possession.
Records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons show that Stephenson also spent time in federal prison and was only released in July 2012.
Stephenson will be arraigned at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Downtown Columbus.
