Son Charged With Stabbing Murder of Mother

COLUMBUS -- According to investigators, an argument between a mother and son led to the stabbing death of the mom on the city's northeast side.
Robert Lindsey, 19, has been charged with the murder of his mother, Latonia Banner, 41. Police say during the interview of Lindsey, he said he and his mother had an argument that led up to the stabbing.
Police received a 911 call around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 saying someone had been stabbed at an apartment complex in the 3800 block of Chestnut Ridge Loop.
When officers got there, they found two people stabbed. Lindsey suffered a wound to the leg and was transported to Grant Medical Center in stable condition. He was treated and released into police custody for questioning.
Banner was found with multiple stab wounds inside the apartment and was pronounced dead at the scene.
This is the city's 11th homicide of 2013, and the investigation remains ongoing.
