Second Hills Market Almost Open

COLUMBUS — The new location of The Hills Market is set to open downtown in March. It is still under construction, but the store is making serious progress and ABC6 got the first look inside.
“We had to transform a space that was originally a garage into a grocery store so it takes time we had to find ways to have electricity and water be available to every part of the store we had to find ways to do each VAC and lighting so it just took time,” Jill Moorehead said.
Moorehead said downtown shoppers want convenience with their basic groceries and lunch options. She said the new market aims to take care of their needs.
“An opportunity just to buy regular groceries just to pick up a salad pick up a meatloaf to pick up milk, eggs, we're excited to provide that for them,” she said.
The project was announced about a year ago, and may have taken longer than expected to finish, but it looks to be worth the wait.
“Clearly we wish we would have been able to open six months after we made the announcement so it’s been a little slow but in the past several months every time we come in here something new is up,” Moorehead said.
The new space will also include an area for temporary pop-up restaurants. The Hills will feature local produce, charity happy hours and cooking classes. The exact date it will open in March has not yet been announced.
ABC6 will bring you the opening details as soon as they’re available.
