COLUMBUS -- A staff member at Hilltonia Middle School tried breaking up a fight off school property but caught some negative attention from students watching the fight.
The staff member, who wishes to remain nameless, was in the midst of breaking up a fight when another student charged at her and punched her multiple times.
A Columbus Schools spokesperson says fighting is not tolerated in or around school property however, they are not responsible for incidents that happen off school property.
The spokesperson said the staff member "thought she was doing the right thing and we do too."
Police were not called to this brawl and the Hilltonia staff member is not pressing charges.
