Proposed Adults-Only Hotel Causing Concern in Orange Twp.

Updated: Monday, April 29 2013, 07:47 PM EDT
UPDATE: Orange Township trustees talked about this proposed adult only hotel at their meeting Monday at 10 a.m.

DELAWARE COUNTY -- A community watch group is feeling anything but love for a proposed adults-only romantic getaway.

Orange Township Community Watch spokesperson Anne Seghi claims to represent more than 100 people united in their opposition to a hotel planned for a 32 acre site near a playground, pool, and library.

The hotel would cater exclusively to adults -- a policy that isn't sitting well with Seghi and her group.

"We don't think a couple's only retreat matches family activities," she told ABC 6/FOX 28.

The hotel's parent company owns a similar hotel in Perrysburg, near Toledo. Developer John Kranjec said Orange Township residents should rest assured he plans to bring a legitimate business operation to their neighborhood.

"We are not a fly by night organization," Kranjec said. "We are popular on Trip Adviser."

Kranjec also said attempts to make the $250 a night hotel appear seedy are not based on facts.

"Allegations we have hourly rates are not true."

Orange Township trustees received preliminary plans for the hotel's design on April 22, and said they will soon come to "a fair and logical" decision.
