Portman Questioning Immigrant's Long Hospital Stay

COLUMBUS -- Tonight, an Ohio Senator wants answers on an ABC 6 Investigation.
Last month, we exposed an immigrant with a violent past who has lived at OSU’S Wexner Medical Center for more than two and a half years, getting free room and board plus medical care.
The homeless man’s hospital bill is running deep into the six figures.
Ohio taxpayers covered a big chunk of that tab.
Based on our investigation, Senator Rob Portman launched his own investigation.
He’s asked U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to review the case.
Portman also wants to know why Immigration and Customs Enforcement hasn’t taken any action against Francis Kirton.
Our investigation shows that Kirton came to the United States in 1987, and was issued a Green Card in 1990.
Between 1992 and 2010, he was arrested a dozen times.
During that period, Kirton was jobless and homeless a lot of the time.
OSU has declined to offer up any information, or even comment on our investigation.
It says patient privacy laws prevents them from discussing any patient.
