COLUMBUS -- Columbus Police tracked down an armed robber by following his snowy tracks leading from the scene of the crime to an apartment nearby.
Officials say the teenage suspect entered the Thornton's gas station on Norton Road in the Galloway area, came up behind the clerk and put a gun to his head.
Police say the robber and clerk then moved to the register where the crook got away with some cash from the register.
Police immediately picked up the suspect's tracks leading from the rear of the building to an apartment complex north of the gas station, on the other side of Georgesville Road.
Police took the man into custody without incident and he was positively identified by a witness and the clerk. Police say the store's surveillance system caught the crime and are working to make that footage available to ABC 6/FOX 28.
The identity of the suspect has not yet been released pending formal charges.
As more information is released regarding this incident, we will update this story.
