Updated: Monday, April 22 2013, 09:40 AM EDT
UPDATE: A search warrant was served and officers searched the home overnight.

They say several weapons were found including the shot gun he wouldn't put down when officers shot him.

The officers were not injured in the incident and names are still not being released.

COLUMBUS – Police say two officers opened fire on a man at his home in Southeast Columbus Sunday evening.

Some people at a house on Oakwood Avenue called police after a man that lives there pulled out his gun.

Officers got on scene just after 8 p.m. and immediately pulled out their guns.  They knocked on the door and police say there was some sort of confrontation.

Witnesses tell police they heard the officers yell “drop the gun” several times and then the two officers fired.

The man was hit several times.  He’s now in stable condition at Grant Medical Center.

At this point it’s not clear whether this man also fired at police or possibly pointed his gun at police.

Police say drugs and alcohol were both factors and charges are now pending.

The man has been identified but his name is not being released at this time.

Several guns were found inside the home.
