OSU Student Seriously Hurt in Fall

COLUMBUS -- OSU police say "horseplay" led to a fall that seriously injured a student.
Eric Ward was among a group of several students attempting to jump from an awning outside the Park-Stradley dormitory when the business major fell approximately 10 feet, according to investigators.
Ward is being treated at OSU's Wexner Medical Center, where he's listed in serious condition.
Student Abi Rathbone told ABC 6/FOX 28 she was walking to her dorm room at Baker East when she saw Ward lying motionless on the ground.
"The police were trying to shine flashlights in his eyes; he was out cold," Rathbone said.
Police believe alcohol was a factor in Ward's fall. The incident remains under investigation.
