New Cameron Mitchell Restaurant Opens Tuesday

COLUMBUS -- A familiar name is opening a new restaurant in Columbus.
When The Pearl opens February 5, it will be the third Cameron Mitchell Restaurant on High St. in the Short North.
Owner and developer Cameron Mitchell calls The Pearl a gastropub with fresh seafood, fish, and steaks, along with more than 40 types of beer -- some only available at the new restaurant.
"The beer list reads like a wine list," Mitchell told ABC 6/FOX 28. "Origin, alcohol content, age."
Mitchell said he decided on the location for his new venture after figuring that someone would put a restaurant near Marcellas -- another Mitchell business.
"My theory is this: it's a good restaurant site, someone's gonna be competing with us. It may as well be ourselves. So here we are."
Mitchell said the food at The Pearl is made from scratch -- their own sauces, their own pickles and desserts, including “crack pie”, which Mitchell describes as being so good, it’s
addictive.
Mitchell sold his Fish Market and steakhouse restaurants to Ruth’s Christ in 2008. A five year non-compete clause signed at the time of the sale ends in a few weeks, so he hopes to open a new steakhouse somewhere in Columbus.
