Muskingum County Kidnapping Investigation

ZANESVILLE -- The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office is investigating an early morning robbery that led to the search for a woman and four armed men.

An alert was sent out to area law enforcement agencies to be on the look-out for a Silver Acura thought to have four armed males inside who, at the time, were believed to have kidnapped a woman in her 20's against her will.

That woman was located not long after the alert was put out walking along I-70 near State Route 13.

After questioning the woman, detectives have determined the woman was not abducted and may be a suspect in a robbery in the area, along with the four males being sought in the Silver Acura. Detectives believe the abduction information was incorrectly put out when looking for the suspects.

Police are still looking for that vehicle to question those who may have also been involved in the robbery.
