DELAWARE COUNTY -- Two suspects are in police custody after a home break-in prompted deputies to lock down several Olentangy schools on Wednesday.
Olentangy Orange High , Orange Middle, Freedom Trail Elementary, Oak Creek Elementary, Glen Oak Elementary, Walnut Creek Elementary, and Alum Creek Elementary Schools were locked down as a precautionary measure while police searched for suspects involved in a burglary at an Omaha Dr. home.
Two men were eventually apprehended in connection with the burglary. The suspects are being held at the Delaware County jail; their names have not been released.
Lanette Lillemoen was inside the Omaha Dr. home with her daughter shortly before the break-in, but left before the thieves entered.
"It's not a good feeling. You wonder if it is going to happen again," Lillemoen said. "You have to watch everything. Don't leave your kids alone. Crazy people."
The thieves grabbed a television from one of the home's walls, but fled the house without any other items after a neighbor called 911 to report the burglary as it happened.
"It was awesome," Sgt. Art Kester said of the neighbor's 911 call. "We told him we are appreciative when people in the community work with law enforcement."
Deputies were able to recover the stolen TV and return it to the homeowner.
