Mt. Vernon Ave. Homicide

COLUMBUS -- Homicide detectives are on the scene of a deadly shooting at 1432 Mt. Vernon Avenue. in East Columbus.
One person was taken to Grant Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the stomach and possibly the neck and was in critical condition.
The victim has since died from his injuries.
According to police dispatchers the victim walked into Wheatland Foods after the shooting for help.
Officers on the scene say they are going back to the sub station to look at the city's security cameras to see if they can identify a suspect.
A suspect was seen went running from the scene wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and black pants and may have gone westbound.
Mt. Vernon Ave. is closed between Graham and Burt streets for the investigation.
