Man in Custody after Deadly Shooting

COLUMBUS -- A police source says SWAT took a man into custody at an area hotel in connection with the deadly shooting of Tony Walton.

The situation happened at around 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Ramada Inn at E. Broad St. and S. Hamilton Rd.

The name of the person taken into custody wasn't immediately released, nor was his connection to Walton's death.

As new information is released, we will update this story.

Columbus police have found what they think is the maroon Ford Crown Victoria involved in this shooting.

COLUMBUS -- Columbus Police Homicide Squad is looking for what they believe to be the suspect vehicle out of last nights walk-in homicide victim at Mount Carmel East Hospital.

They are looking for a 1995 red or maroon Ford Crown Vic with a 30-day temporary tag of W593014. If you see this vehicle you are asked to call 911 immediately, and to not approach.

COLUMBUS -- Police are seeking information about a shooting victim that turned up at the emergency room of a hospital.

Police say someone dropped a man off at Mount Carmel East Hospital at around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. They say the man had been shot in the chest. Officers say the victim was pronounced dead about an hour later.

Right now, police are searching for the vehicle that dropped the victim off at the hospital. They say it's a red Ford Crown Victoria with a temporary license plate.

The name of the victim wasn't immediately released.
