Man Accused of Trying to Have Sex with Teen After Undercover Sting

COLUMBUS—A Fredericktown man is accused of trying to have sex with a minor after an undercover sting.


Franklin County investigators say 32-year-old Nathan Baker posted an advertisement on Craigslist seeking sex. Deputies said Baker believed he was talking to a 14-year-old girl. The undercover detective and Baker agreed to meet at an undisclosed location in Grandview Heights.


When the two met Friday, investigators said condoms were found.


The Franklin County Sheriff's Office also took Baker's computer and cell phone for evidence.


In court, a public defender said Baker has a wife and child. ABC 6/ FOX 28 asked Baker if he would agree to an interview in jail. He declined.


Baker was given a $20,000 cash surety bond. He is expected to bond out.
