LANCASTER --  Police say a woman was taken to the hospital after police say she was shot inside a home in Fairfield County.

According to Detective Brian Lowe the shooting happened in the 1500 block of Amherst Place around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Police arrested and charged 25-year-old Jason Moore in connection with the shooting.

Police say there were three children in the home at the time, ages 2, 3, and 4. None were harmed.

All are being cared for by their grandmother at this time, according to a family member.

Shuemaker is being treated at Grant Medical Center where she underwent surgery.  She is expected to make a full recovery.

Moore is being held at the Fairfield County Sherriff's Office on $75,000 bond. He's charged with improperly discharging a weapon, felonious assault, and child endangerment.
