Kill List Unveiled at Middle School

COLUMBUS — A Columbus Middle School Principal has suspended two ten year old girls because of a “kill list” one of them wrote.
Ridgeview Middle School reported the incident to police but would not talk to ABC 6/FOX 28 about the case.
Police reports show three students told a counselor about the “kill list” and the name of the girl who wrote it.
The counselor got her notebook which had the list and a letter about killing inside.
The school sent home a letter to parents yesterday but the letter did not mention the “kill list” .
It said in part …”two students were making threats against other students…”
The girls and their lockers were searched and “…nothing of concern was found…”
Former F.B.I. agent Harry Trombitas is not working on this case, but he has handled similar cases, and he tells ABC 6/FOX 28 News most times this is a cry for help or attention, but “we have seen things escalate to the point where somebody has acted out against individuals on a list.”
Trombitas says there is no profile of somebody who will act out violently, so each case must be investigated.
He says checking social media pages is a good idea because sometimes feelings people express are good clues to future dangerous behavior.
