MCCONNELSVILLE, Ohio (AP) -- Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine says a former southeast Ohio mayor accused of raping a child has been found guilty of rape and other charges.
DeWine says a Morgan County jury on Monday convicted former Stockport Mayor Michael Shane Shuster of 21 felony counts.
There were six counts of rape, eight counts of gross sexual imposition and seven counts of sexual battery.
Shuster's attorney didn't immediately return a call to his office Monday.
Shuster could be sentenced to 25 years to life for each of three counts of rape of a juvenile under age 13.
The other convictions could include sentences between six months and 11 years, depending on the charge.
Sentencing is set for May 22.
The village of around 500 people is about 70 miles southeast of Columbus.
