DELAWARE COUNTY -- A New Albany doctor accused of killing a pregnant woman and her unborn child will appear in court for an arraignment on a nine count indictment including two murder charges.
Authorities arrested Dr. Ali Salim Wednesday after a grand jury indicted Salim nearly seven months after Deanna Ballman's body was found.
Ballman's family says the young mother of two responded to a Craigslist ad for a cleaning lady when she was found dead in the backseat of her car last August.
"Obviously instead of using his knowledge for the good he used it for the evil and drugged her killed he and my grandbaby," said Lori Ballman, Deanna's mother.
The Delaware county sheriff called the crime horrific and said the investigation wasn't over.
Salim will be arraigned at 2 p.m. Thursday in Delaware Common Pleas Court.
