Updated: Thursday, February 21 2013, 06:33 PM EST
COLUMBUS -- A winter weather advisory has been issued from 8 p.m. Thursday to Friday at noon.
Tonight, a messy situation will likely develop as light snow showers begin to transition into areas of freezing rain into the Friday morning commute. Temperatures will fall into the mid 20s.
Freezing rain looks like a good bet for the morning commute on Friday before transitioning over to rain showers by Friday midday.
Temperatures will rise into the lower 40s Friday afternoon.
Be aware of extremely icy conditions on Friday morning.
Rock salt to melt ice is flying off the shelves. There are lock de-icers at stores as well for your car.
It is also recommended that you change your furnace filter as cold temperatures will keep it running hard.
