Icy Roads: Snow Emergencies
Updated: Friday, February 1 2013, 12:54 PM EST
PICKERINGTON -- Bitterly cold temperatures made it easy for snow to stick to the roads overnight and several counties are still under a level one snow emergency.
However, the sunshine has really helped improve the roads.
Plows and salt trucks have been out on the highways for hours and are now tackling the side streets.
Black ice was a problem during the morning rush hour and blowing snow was a problem on outlying county roads.
Pickerington Schools as well as other districts delayed classes by two hours, and most parents appreciated that.
A level one snow emergency means the roads are still icy and you should give yourself more stopping distance.
Fairfield County officials say they have responded to many accidents, but no one has been seriously hurt.
