House Catches Fire on South Side
Updated: Friday, February 1 2013, 10:37 PM EST
COLUMBUS -- Investigators are trying to figure out what started a house fire Friday
night on Dering Ave. near S. 5th St.
Columbus firefighters were called
out there at around 8:30 p.m. and found flames and smoke coming from the
house.
According to firefighters, the family living there wasn't home when the fire started. Nobody was hurt, except a family pet, which was taken to an emergency animal hospital for treatment.
An arson investigator was called to help determine the cause of the fire, which is standard procedure in fires like this where the cause isn't immediately known.
