Free Tax Help Saturday
Updated: Friday, February 1 2013, 04:42 PM EST
COLUMBUS (AP) -- Ohioans looking for free tax filing assistance can find help at sites around the state on Saturday as part of an effort called Free My Refund Day.
The statewide initiative is aimed at making free tax filing available during weekend hours to accommodate working families.
Most households with annual incomes of $60,000 or less are eligible for free tax preparation and filing through the Ohio Benefit Bank.
Trained counselors can tell families what credits they are eligible for and help them prepare and file returns.
State officials say the day gives people a chance not only to access free tax preparation but to learn about other assistance programs they might be eligible for.
The Ohio Benefit Bank is managed by the Ohio Association of Foodbanks.
