Updated: Thursday, April 11 2013, 10:46 AM EDT
COLUMBUS -- Nine different fire departments responded to a three alarm fire at 9690 Roley Hills Road in Licking County.

It broke out in the garage of the home just after 5 a.m. Thursday.

There is significant damage to the home.  The family is calling it a "total loss."

The couple was asleep at the time of the fire when they were awoken by their two dogs and smoke detectors.

The two people, two dogs, and two cats all got out of the home unharmed.

The American Red Cross is helping the family and an investigative team is on the scene to determine a cause.
