Fallen Bricks Close Parsons Ave. Sidewalk
Updated: Monday, February 11 2013, 07:55 PM EST
COLUMBUS -- A busy Columbus sidewalk was closed Monday after bricks from a building fell to the ground.
The fallen bricks forced the closure of the sidewalk in front of an appliance store at 1958 S. Parsons Ave.
Investigators are not certain what caused the bricks to fall, but believe the age of the building and the rapidly changing weather may have weakened adhesives.
The sidewalk will remain closed in the area while workers determine how long repairs will take, and if the building is safe for continued use. City officials hope safety tests will be concluded within 72 hours.
No one was hurt by the falling bricks.
