Deputy Police Chief's Daughter on Arrest Warrant List

COLUMBUS -- The daughter of a high-ranking police officer is included on a list of people wanted on outstanding arrest warrants.
Ashley Blackwell is on the city's so-called "Dirty Dozen" list for failing to appear in court. Blackwell, 27, is the daughter of Columbus Deputy Police Chief Jeffrey Blackwell, and is facing charges for OVI, shoplifting, and several other alleged infractions.
It is not clear if Deputy Chief Blackwell is aware of his daughter's legal issues. The officer did not return a phone call from ABC 6/FOX 28.
Assistant Columbus City Attorney Bill Hedrick compiles the Dirty Dozen lists, and said he doesn't take family connections into account when picking names to add.
"The question we have: do we try to treat everyone the same? Did she meet the profile [of] what we were looking for for our dirty dozen? The answer is yes."
Hedrick said some people on the lists turn themselves in, while police are led to others via tips from the public.
A Columbus Division of Police spokesperson told ABC 6/FOX 28 Ashley Blackwell will be arrested if she is located by officers.
