DELAWARE (Tom Bosco/Ken Hines) -- Police are working to determine what kind of drugs led to two, apparently related, fatal overdoses.
Delaware police received a report of an unconscious man in a truck in front of an apartment at 52 Bernard Ave. at approximately 1:15 a.m. Tuesday. The man in the truck, Shane Krause, was dead when officers arrived.
Just six hours after Krause's death was reported, a 911 dispatcher received a call from someone inside the same Bernard Ave. apartment reporting another unresponsive person. That man, Virgil Mitchell III, also died.
Investigators say Krause and Mitchell were friends, and believe their deaths are related. No one has been arrested in connection with the deaths.
Police say a woman found in the apartment was hospitalized with signs of illness, but it is not clear if the sickness was caused by drug use.
