COLUMBUS -- A central Ohio woman is recovering after allegedly being beaten and nearly drowned by her boyfriend.
ABC 6/FOX 28 agreed not to identify the 38-year-old victim of the February 3 attack.
Police say they were forced to use tasers to apprehend the alleged assailant, Martrell Miles, who is charged with abduction.
The victim said she had been dating Miles, 32, for two months when the attack occurred as the suspect was preparing to go to the store before watching the Super Bowl.
The victim said Miles “flipped out” suddenly while the two argued over $3, then threw her around her house, choked her, and dragged her into her kitchen where he started removing the shelves in her refrigerator.
"[He] opened up the refrigerator, started taking out racks, acted like he was going to throw me in there," she said. "I thought I was dead. I thought I was going to be dead."
The victim was able to run on to her front porch at one point during the three hour ordeal, where she screamed for help. That’s when, she claims, Miles pulled her back inside by her hair.
"He said, ‘B****, you want to run out of the house screaming? Now, you're about to die.’"
The victim said Miles forced her to the bathroom, where he ordered her to fill the tub. In court records, officers state Miles tried to drown the victim before they intervened.
The victim told ABC 6/FOX 28 police said Miles appeared to have been under the influence of bath salts at the time of the attack.
Miles is behind bars on $500,000 bail.
