COLUMBUS (Ken Hines) -- There is a good chance that the next Republican National Convention will be held in Ohio -- but where that would happen in the Buckeye State is anyone's guess.
Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland are among eight cities chosen as finalists for the 2016 GOP Convention. The Ohio cities are joined by Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, Phoenix, and Las Vegas.
Representatives from each finalist city will present their cases to party officials in person on Monday in Washington, D.C.
Columbus's pursuit of a political convention is a bipartisan one, with organizers also planning to host a reception Democratic leaders ahead of a bid for that party's 2016 event.
