Circleville Apartment Fire Displaces Many
CIRCLEVILLE--Eight families are looking for a new home after a fire destroyed their apartment in Circleville. Around 5:20 Sunday morning, neighbors woke up to flames. Crews spent more than three hours fighting the blaze on Logan Street. One tenant said she left work just after 5:00 AM, only to find out minutes later that her home was on fire. She rushed to the apartment to check on her 14-year-old son. "In just a matter of seconds you know?" Catherine Thatcher said. "You never think that you--I could've just lost one of my kids today." No one in the apartment was hurt. Circleville Fire Chief Timothy J. Tener said one firefighter was injured, but was treated and released. The landlord hired a contractor to tear the structure down the same day. Crews are still investigating what may have caused the fire. The Red Cross is helping displaced residents. Many are staying at an area hotel. ------------------- Reporter: Jen French Web Producer: Brooke Stromp
